If 2012 Doomsday Prophecy Fails

What is going to happen if 2012 doomsday prophecy fails.  Well, the stakes are already on the boards. There are many aspects of this issue. I am going to discuss few areas like market, cults, social system and more.

First Market

The internet has many stores which are selling supplies related to survival if doomsday in 2012 occurs.  These sites and stores would have accomplished their goals by the end of the 2012.  As January 2013 begins, most of these sites would go off-line because their purpose would be over.  As I mentioned, these stores and sites are expected to generate revenue more than $666 Million.  That was rough figure.  The failure of 2012 prophecy will make them rich and they will have enough money to live well in the future.  The mainstream market does not see any sort of possibility of 2012 doomsday prophecy coming true.

Cults

This is the probably the area which has maximum exposure to doomsday theories.  There may be many underground groups forming and making hype of 2012 prophecies and attracting and enrolling more members. The danger is eminent there because the members of such groups create problems and sometimes they take drastic steps to end their lives. It has happened earlier when comet appeared.  The member of cult groups would go in the modes of prayers and as expected doomsday prophecy will fail. There would be many cult leaders who would come out to claim that their faith has moved the doomsday date to future.  Their followers are going to believe them blindly. According to religious gurus, we are slated to have deferred doomsday date.  As some one already claimed that world is going to end in 2043.

Social System and Science

There are not going to be any noticeable effects on the society and community. The world will go on with its ways. Doomsday failure will not have any impact in any part of the world. People are going to sigh with relief that stupid doomsday experts are wrong again.  Already there is interest in the theories and many mainstream scientists have already debunked the theories. With failure of doomsday prophecy, the science would emerge stronger.

Finally Doomsday Experts

If they go wrong, they would need to explain why the hyped event did not occur.  I can find the voices online which have predicted many dates in 2012. So if one goes wrong, they can wait for another. Thats the game, experts play. Any well known doomsday expert is going to loose his reputation. But, does he really care? He would have sold his books in million copies already and hardly care if doomsday predictions are true or false.

Doomsday Psychology and Alternate Paths

One wonders how these the theory related to doomsday are cooked and used as a tool to meet the goals.  Actually one has to understand the mechanics of cults and the groups who think either they are not from earth or they have power of faith in their favor.  Lets deal with the first issue of cooking a perfect doomsday theory and its predictions.

It all starts with an idea and someone starts toying with the religious books. The idea is mixed with science and here-say news content. A sketchy draft is prepared and circulated among the group whose member start believing the theory. The next step goes to find someone from active media groups who can publish the stories. Power of internet is used for creating websites and spreading the words using social media. Soon you find that a new doomsday or end-of the world theory has been born.

Psychological effects on society and community are very strong and many people start looking at the options which can be used for escaping just in case it happens.  Fighting doomsday theories is no easy task. It is like fighting a psychological and propaganda war without any preparation. Should governments intervene? May and may be not. Governments do not want to intervene because it would be deemed as  censoring the free-speech.

Alternate paths do exist for avoiding the flood of such theories. One is, do not take these doomsday 2012 theories too seriously. No expert left their sea-front houses so far and they do not have plans to do so.

You must find the ways to stay mentally healthy and remain so without being influenced by the garbage of doomsday stuff around us.

Total Worth of 2012 Doomsday is $666 Million

This is pretty interesting question. How much is total worth of 2012 Doomsday in terms of the business or the products it can sell?

Lets do dirty mathematics here. The CPC for 2012 is $10.26 according to google.  If such one million ads are served, the total comes to $10.26 Million.

Total of the basic keywords related to 2012 doomsday point to $651 CPC. If such 1 million ads are served. The total comes $651 million.  Thats pretty straight.

The average Doomsday book cost suppose is $10, If Amazon and Ebay combined together sell the 1 million copies of such books.  The total sale value of the books comes at $10 million.

Now comes the business of small websites selling 2012 doomsday ebooks and other material. Suppose one such product costs on an average $5. If such 1 million sales are recorded. The value comes close to $5 million.

Sum of the above things comes to : $666 Million.

Doomsday Underground Shelter from Vivos

Doomsday 2012 can mean good business for those who are ready to invest lots of money. The only condition to reap business is that, doomsday should occur and It should occur in limited way because the company which is investing money, must have the value for money outside the shelter houses.

Vivos Group seems have taken the doomsday prophecies little more seriously. The company is constructing 20 underground shelters to house 3400 people. These shelter houses would be able to keep people there for 1 year.  These shelters are expected to be ready by mid 2011.  The cost living there in these houses is not known. The construction cost of one shelter unit is being told to be more than $10 million.

Now comes, the shocker.  The investment has been made by the people who are supposed to be visionary.  Any venture capitalist would tell you, investment in doomsday ideas, is worst of its kind. What if, the doomsday does not occur. The investment would go to no returns. And who would like to live in these houses underground while the houses and the beautiful world is available on the ground and you would be able to see beautiful sky.

The business sense, is that 3400 people from all over the world, would buy these houses in advance before 2012. The company may be hopeful that it would be able to sell these units well before the 2012 hits.  I seriously doubt if someone would be ready to buy a unit. The crazy heads are no less than few numbers.  You need to be little rich to buy one of these units for you. But Why would you need them if doomsday and end of the world is not occurring even in next century.

Personally, I do not not endorse these houses and I think it would be wasteful investment to buy or rent these houses.

2012 Astronomy

Is there something going to happen in 2012 astronomically in our skies? are there any legitimate astronomers who can through some lights on 2012 doomsday theories from the point of view of stars and galaxy?

There are many such questions which needs to be answered. I tried to dig for few sources which have explained the overall results with advanced charting system of the movement of the stars and planets.

What I am not sure about is, if the above writers are astronomers or not. But the point they make is that 2012 doomsday theories do not have substance in them from the factual science of astronomy.  I will try to look at the several other sources and compile one version.

The astronomy is in advanced stages and there are good equipments available which can track almost all the bodies in skies. There are many amateur groups  which are active in the field. The debate in circle is that 2012 Dec 21, night or day sky does not reveal anything which is unusual. In the absence of factual terms, the doomsday theorists have the bad science to their credit. Either they must be knowing well if they are seeing something which is not visible to thousands of the telescopes in the world. No astronomer reported to sight the planet niburu so far. The planet niburu seems to have special likings to doomsday experts. It has evaded the sight of telescopes so far.
